SOHO Network

SOHO is short for Small Office Home Office. This refers to a small network, like you would have in an office at home, or in a very small business.

The typical characteristics of this network include:

• A single and relatively cheap internet connection
• An internet router with a Wireless Access Point and switch built in
• A printer, which may be wirelessly connected, or wired
• A small number of PCs, usually less than five
• A few wireless devices, including items like smart phones and tablets

It’s becoming more common to see things like TVs and home automation equipment being connected to a SOHO network.
